Understanding Dental Implants
Dental implants offer significant advantages to traditional methods of replacing missing teeth. Whittier Dental Studio uses dental implants to restore the appearance and function of your smile. A titanium post is surgically implanted into the jawbone to replace the natural tooth roots. The implant post is integrated with the bone by a process known as osseointegration, which creates a solid base for the final restoration.
After the implant has fused fully with the bone, an abutment or connector piece is attached. The abutment supports the custom-made denture, bridge, or crown that completes the restoration. Dental implants are designed to blend in seamlessly with the natural teeth. They provide a long-lasting and durable solution that mimics your teeth. By stimulating the jawbone, they also prevent the decay often associated with missing teeth.
The
ideal candidate for dental implants is someone with healthy gums and enough jawbone density. Dr. Jamsheed can discuss the various options for preparing your mouth and teeth for dental implants. Whittier Dental Studio is committed to helping patients achieve a natural smile with dental implants.
Dental Implants: Benefits
Natural Appearance: Dental Implants are designed to feel, look, and perform like natural teeth. They are designed to blend in seamlessly with existing teeth and enhance the aesthetics of your mouth.
Improved Functionality: Implants allow you to enjoy your favorite foods without discomfort or difficulty.
Durability & Longevity: Dental implants are a long-term, cost-effective solution to tooth loss.
Bone Health Preservation: Implants stimulate the jawbone and prevent bone loss, which is common with missing teeth. This maintains the shape of your jaw and face.
Implants Do Not Affect Adjacent Teeth: Unlike traditional bridges, which alter the structure of healthy adjacent teeth, implants preserve their natural shape.
Comfortable Fit: Implants provide a comfortable and secure fit, eliminating the discomfort of removable dentures.

Our Dental Implant Services
Single Tooth Implants: Single-tooth implants are the ideal way to replace a single missing tooth. Once the implant has been integrated into the jawbone, it is attached to a custom-made cap. The implant restores both the appearance and function of the missing teeth.
Implants For Multiple Teeth: Multiple tooth implants are a good solution for patients who have lost multiple teeth. Implants can support individual crowns or bridges depending on the patients’ needs. This method restores functionality and aesthetics to multiple missing teeth without the use of removable dentures.
Implant-Supported Bridges: Implant-supported bridges can be a great option to replace several missing teeth. The bridge is not supported by natural teeth, but instead, it is secured with dental implants. This will prevent adjacent teeth from shifting and maintain the integrity of your bit.
All-On-4 Implants: All-On-4 is a revolutionary implant solution that allows patients to replace a full arch of teeth. Four strategically placed implants are used to support an entire arch of prosthetic teeth. All-On-4 implants are a comfortable and stable alternative to dentures.
Implant-Supported Dentures:
Implant-supported dentures offer a great option for patients who want dentures but also want to improve their stability and comfort. The dentures are attached to dental implants and prevent slipping. They also provide a better fit. Implant-supported dentures improve chewing efficiency and comfort.
Dental Implants: The Process
Initial Consultation and Assessment
Dr. Amir Jamsheed will provide you with a thorough consultation and assessment to begin your journey towards a restored smile. During your visit, Dr. Jamsheed will review your dental history, discuss your concerns and goals, and perform a thorough oral examination. Diagnostic tools like X-rays or 3D imaging can be used to assess the jawbone’s condition and determine where the implant should go.
Treatment Planning
Dr. Jamsheed develops a customized treatment plan based on your assessment. This plan will be tailored to meet your individual needs. This plan will detail the recommended implant procedure and number of implants needed, as well as the type of restoration to be used. Dr. Jamsheed is available to answer all of your questions and will walk you through each step.
Your comfort is the top priority at Whittier Dental Studio. Dr. Jamsheed administers local anesthesia before beginning the procedure to numb any affected areas. You will be pain-free during the entire treatment. We offer sedation to patients who are anxious about dental procedures.
Implant Placement
First, the implant is surgically placed into the jawbone. The procedure is done under local anesthesia for your comfort. Dr. Jamsheed makes a small cut in the gum tissue to create a space for the implant. The gum tissue will be sutured into place and a temporary crown may then be placed.
Osseointegration & Healing
After the implants have been placed, a process called osseointegration starts. During this time, the implants slowly fuse with the jawbone to create a stable and strong foundation for the final restoration. Osseointegration usually takes several months. During this time, it is essential to follow Dr. Jamsheed’s care instructions to ensure proper healing.
Abutment Placement
A small connector, called an abutment, is attached to the implants once osseointegration has been completed. The abutment is used as the base for a final restoration to ensure a stable and secure fit. This step can require a small surgical procedure that is usually performed under local anesthesia.
Final Restoration
The placement of a custom-made restoration is the final step in the process. The restoration, whether it's a bridge, crown, or denture, is made to match your natural teeth in color, size, and shape. Dr. Jamsheed carefully attaches the restoration to the abutment. He will make any adjustments necessary to ensure that the restoration fits perfectly and looks natural.

★★★★★
As a kid I had so many bad experiences with dentist's and recently when one of my teeth deteriorated and broke, I knew I had to get some sort of implant and I was dreading it. Came into Dr Trinh’s office and I was told my choices. A Bridge or an implant, he broke each option down. I ended up going for the implant because I did not want to chip into the other 2 teeth required for the bridge. I’m about 3/4 of the way into the implant process (I just got the screw in) and it has been a 10/10 process so far. Him and his team always calmed my concerns and are very kind. Super excited to get my smile back :). Would totally recommend it.
